YouTube's Community Posts โ the often-overlooked social feed feature that lives between a creator's videos โ got a major upgrade this week. Creators can now attach up to 90-second audio clips, multi-option polls with follow-up branching, and "Exclusive" tags that restrict Community Post visibility to paid channel members only.
The audio clip capability is particularly significant. It allows creators to share audio content โ early podcast segments, music snippets, voice memos โ in a native YouTube format without publishing a full video. This directly attacks Patreon's audio update feature and Substack's recently launched Substack Audio product, offering YouTube's existing creator base an alternative without requiring platform migration.
